If
you are familiar with the Condado area of San Juan, it should be
easy to find our hotels - we're right in the middle of
everything!
For transportation from the San Juan
International Airport, you will find taxis readily available
outside baggage claim. Taxis are regulated. The flat
rate from the Airport to El Canario Hotels in Condado is
approximately $14 (per taxi, not per person) plus 50 cents per
bag. Puerto Rico Tourism Company Ground Transportation
Representatives are stationed outside baggage claim to assist
you as necessary.
If arriving in San Juan off a cruise, taxis
will be available outside the disembarkation area. The
flat fee for transport from Old San Juan's cruise ship port to
El Canario Hotels in Condado is approximately $12 (per taxi, not
per person) plus 50 cents per bag.
Driving
from the airport, detailed instructions for each hotel are
listed below, along with a link for complete online maps.
Airport
to El Canario by the Lagoon
Driving
from the airport toward San Juan, take the exit for Condado
Avenue & R.H. Todd Avenue.
At
the intersection with the light, take a right onto Condado
Avenue - past 'Miro' Restaurant.
Continue
for two lights and turn left onto Ashford Avenue at Walgreens/Pizza
Hut intersection.
Continue
on Ashford Avenue past Banco Popular and then turn left onto
Mariano Ramirez Bages Street (previously known as Calle Joffre) at the Cartier/Avis intersection.
You
will pass Clemenceau Street at the Comfort
Inn/Days Inn - but
since it is a one way street, you must continue one block to
Marseilles Street and swing around the block to get to the
hotel.
Once you
get to the hotel, take the driveway on the left side of the
building for parking and make sure you leave your keys with the
front desk. Parking is free for guests staying at El Canario by
the Lagoon, but as space is limited, leaving your keys with the
front desk manager will allow us to shuffle cars around as
needed to accommodate all our guests.
Airport
to El Canario by the Sea
Driving
from the airport toward San Juan, take the exit for Condado Avenue
& R.H. Todd Avenue.
At
the intersection with the light, take a right onto Condado Avenue
past 'Miro' restaurant.
Continue
for two lights until the intersection of Ashford Avenue at
Walgreens/Pizza Hut.
Continue
straight on Condado Avenue, past Pizza Hut and you will find El
Canario by the Sea - the green building on the left hand side of the street.
There
is no parking provided by El Canario by the Sea, but you will see
the parking garage of the Marriott Hotel just across the
street. We strongly recommend this, since there is
very little on-street parking in this area of the Condado.
There
is a special El Canario rate at the Marriott parking lot for
$16.00 per 24 hours with 'in and out' privileges...
but you must stop by the hotel first to receive a discount voucher
to present when you park your car for the first time.
There
is also a parking lot directly on Ashford Avenue one block away
from the hotel.
Airport
to El Canario Inn
Driving
from the airport toward San Juan, take the exit for Condado Avenue
& R.H. Todd Ave.
At
the intersection with the light, take a right onto Condado Avenue
past 'Miro' restaurant.
Continue
one more light which is the intersection with Magdalena Avenue -
you will see Restaurant 1Uno and Tiri Real
Estate.
Turn
right onto Magdalena Avenue and continue past the small park with
the fountain of 'Juan Bobo' and a children's playground. (read

The
street at the end of the park near Stella Maris Church is
Cervantes Street. Turn
left onto Calle Cervantes for one block and then make a left onto
Ashford Avenue.
You
will find El Canario Inn on the right side of Ashford between
Cervantes and Caribe.
There
is no parking at the hotel, but you can find parking on the side
streets (be careful with the rules) or use the parking garage at
the Marriott which is just next door.
There

A credit card will be required to
secure your room reservation (Visa,

Canario by the Lagoon, a one night deposit is charged at booking, refundable if
reservation is canceled four or more days in advance. At El Canario Inn and El
Canario by the Sea, credit card holds room, but is not charged in advance unless
for a one night penalty should you cancel less than four days before arrival or
fail to show.
Upon check in, you will be required to provide your credit
card and authorized cardholder signature
or you may pay total room charges with
travelers checks or US Cash.
